One weekend, while we were at Gramma & Grampa's, Gramma went on a retreat and so we kidnapped Grampa and took him to a local farm that offered pick-your-own-pumpkins. It was a gorgeous day to be out and a really neat little farm!
The kids enjoyed feeding the goats
And I'm pretty confident the goats enjoyed being fed
There were cows, too. But the kids preferred the goats.
There was a bee observation area. We tried to find the queen, but had no luck.
Then "Jack & Jill went up a hill" to go feed the chickens.
I love how sweet those kids can be to each other ;)
Feeding the chickens, then impersonating a chicken... hehe
I attempted to get a group photo of the three kids.
This was the best I got... oh well.
Nathan adores his baby sister!
And Ruth adored playing with, and chewing on, her baby pumpkin
While Grampa & Ruth stayed behind, the big kids and I got on a hay ride to go to the pumpkin fields.
"Bye Bye, Grampa & Ruthie Bear, see you soon!"
Awww... I just love when Nathan takes Ruth's hand to guide his little sis :)
Faith was on the hunt for a little pumpkin. Nathan wanted a BIG one.
Faith thought she'd found the perfect little one.
Until she decided it was way too heavy for her!
Have no fear! Big brother is here!
He decided her "little" pumpkin was the perfect "big" pumpkin for himself!
So then it was off to find Faith a little one...
but they were all dirty and our little neat freak boy didn't like that... haha!
Maybe that one would work for Faith, now that Mommy wiped it off.
"I lub it!", said Faith!
haha - I love Nathan's face in that photo :)
Faith took SOO long to find the perfect little pumpkin, that we almost missed our ride back!
Thankfully the driver saw us as we pulled off. We could have walked, but Faith was VERY upset that the tractor was leaving us. So I was carrying her under one arm and both kids pumpkins in the other. I was thankful the tractor stopped for us - and everyone chuckled as Faith got on, hugging her tiny little pumpkin that she worked so hard to find!
I dare you not to smile at Ruth ;)
Before leaving, we went through the kid's corn maze.
I made one mistake... I showed Nathan the corn growing on the stalk and we talked about how it grows. From then on, alllll the way thru the maze, Nathan had to stop and point out all the corn he saw growing. You know, there's an awful lot of corn growing in a corn maze... haha
Nathan took our photo in the corn maze - not bad for a 4 year old!!
We had fun at the farm. I would highly recommend the place!
