National Apple Festival

Daddy flew in to visit us, on his way home from a work trip. He spent the weekend with us, helped out around Gramma & Grampa's house, and then we all flew home together that Tuesday. The big sibs came with me to the airport Friday night to pick Daddy up. But Ruth had no idea her Daddy was in the same house, until morning.

Daddy went in to greet Ruth and I was expecting her to burst into tears because he wasn't picking her up fast enough - she is such a Daddy's girl!! But I was surprised... Ruth barely reacted. She was still too asleep to realize what was going on. Daddy picked her up, and she immediately reached out for me. She studied Daddy from a few feet away before waking up enough to be aware of who he was. Then she only wanted Daddy :)

After everyone was up & moving, we headed out to the National Apple Festival.

The kids enjoyed some apple sausage

While Gramma & Grampa enjoyed catching up with some old friends

There was a steam engine, being used to cut wood shingles.
Daddy like that. The kids thought it was loud, but cool, too.

The kids colored and played with some farm stickers

And they got to feed and pet a billy goat & a cow.

There were pony rides at the festival, too.

The big kids both loved their pony ride!

Then there were tractors. Lots & lots of tractors.
The kids loved pointing to something and asking, "What that, Daddy?"
And Daddy was all too willing to share. The kids really had no interest in what it was, they just liked to ask :)

Ruth really had no interest in Daddy's mini-lectures, either. But she sure enjoyed a little nap.

We had fun at the apple festival.
Though, as we left, Daddy & I realized we never once had anything with apple in it... oops.
Next time :)
