4th of July 2012

This year, for the 4th of July, daddy got some fireworks to set off. After Ruth went to bed, the rest of us headed outside to join our neighbors, who were already setting some off. We pulled out some lawn chairs and sat to watch Daddy light some up.

Faith was ready to watch, ears plugged :)

Daddy messed with some of the bottle rockets.

While we watched some of our neighbors light up "real" fireworks.

We kinda got taken at the firework stand... maybe they saw us coming... they gave us 6 boxes of DUD sparklers. Few of them lit, and the few that did, lasted 3-5 seconds. And one of the things they gave us (no idea what they're called), just glowed red, spun, and made lots of smoke.

But the kids were still in awe!

Daddy got some things that shot a few things in the air, those were the most impressive.

And when our small stash was gone, we watched our neighbors light their money on fire ;)

Although lots of neighbors shot off fireworks, the scene was nothing like what we saw on New Year's Eve. That was still, the most impressive firework show I've ever seen. And we got to watch it from our bed, with a one week old curled up on my chest :)  Our neighbors sure love fireworks! And so do our kids :)
