Granny & Pa Visit

Granny & Pa came to visit for a long weekend,
after visiting with their newest granddaughter,
and our kids' first cousin!

Pa was lots of fun to play with. He even played "Aunt Sara & baby Carissa" with Faith and her Barbie dolls. hehe

And he let the kids tiger stripe his feet. Granny got her toes painted with marker, too.

Ruth enjoyed balancing on Pa.

And everyone enjoyed playing with Pa in the sandbox!

And everyone also liked "playing" Mario Kart with Granny.
Note, only Granny and Nathan are actually playing.
Faith & Ruth have pretend controllers ;)

Pa braided Faith's hair one day.

Making her look like a real princess!

And then one evening we took Granny & Pa to a local family fun amusement park to race go carts and bumper boats.

Granny & Faith left Daddy & Nathan in their dust!
But Nathan still had fun :)

Then Faith rode with Mommy, and Nathan with Pa.
We'll have to give Daddy' some photography lessons ;)
In his defense, the sun had gone down by this point,
so point-and-shoot wasn't so much a good option.

Thanks to a mini pile-up at a tight curve, Mommy & Faith passed Pa & Nathan.
And thanks to an accident on the track - and later Mommy's kart not turning off like everyone else's did, we got way ahead of the boys! The pic above shows a blurry girls team in the lead, and the boys are 4 cars behind, hehe So Faith won her second race!

After the go karts, we headed over to the bumper boat area.
Ruth was too little to ride, so she and Mommy watched (and laughed) from the sidelines.
And proved it is possible to take non-blurry photos in the dark, hehe ;)

I think the bumper boats was the highlight of the night.

Everyone had fun. Even Ruth laughed at her family
as they soaked each other in the bumper boat pool

Nathan was tall enough to drive his own boat, and did so well!
He had a great time, even though his boat's battery died before it was time to stop.

And Faith made us all proud by NOT whining when she got wet.
She had fun with Granny!

When the game was over, and it was time to return to the dock, Nathan's boat was dead in the water. Pa tried to help him, but Nathan still had enough juice to squirt Pa. haha!

When everyone was out of the boat, Nathan climbed out last - SOAKED more than anyone else - and laughing, giggles "I got all of you!!"  haha! It didn't matter than they all got him more. He had a grand time getting them!

Here's a little video from the bumper boat fun.

We had a great time visiting with Granny & Pa and can't wait to see you again!

Texas State Aquarium

A few weeks ago, Gramma came to visit for a long weekend. Jacob had a great idea to take us all to Corpus Christi for the weekend. We had fun! Well, in between the bouts of vomit, constipation, enemas, diarrhea and upset stomachs. Fortunately, and unfortunately, not all for the same person... But Saturday was sickness free, which was a blessing! Because that's the day we went to the Texas State Aquarium :)

There was an interactive whale fountain out front that the kids loved.

And the whole front of the building is a giant waterfall -
but under the covered entrances, you don't get wet.

We saw alligators.

And big fish.

The seahorses were a hit!

And the starfish were pretty cool, too.

But the kids enjoyed getting to touch the pencil urchins and hermit crabs.

And we saw LOTS of fish.

All kinds of silly fish.

And spiny lobster.
Faith told Gramma, "I don't like lobster, I like bacon" ha!

And lion fish.

And jelly fish.
(Can you tell Mommy was having fun learning to use
her camera in different light settings? hehe)

There were SHARKS

And tree frogs.

And a dolphin performance outside

Nathan was the only one brave enough to TOUCH a shark.
Daddy didn't even do that one ;)

The kids compared their wing span to birds'.

And we took a walk out onto the pier.
It was a nice day! Just really cloudy. And not quite warm enough for the beach....
but we'd go there later that day, anyways.

I spotted a few silly fishes by a whale!

And giant turtles

There were lots of sea animals to see and learn about!

We had a fun time at the aquarium!

I'll post about the rest of our trip soon.
